Case-based e-learning for Educators - CABLE

The CABLE project intends to build, experiment, and evaluate new open learning methodologies based on semantic classification for course contents, and based on an open approach relying on collaborative case studies collection and interaction through virtuous circles.

Target groups are students of basic courses on social works, lifelong learning students in the social sector, social sector operators, welfare operators, sanitary operators, people with special educational needs and their relatives, social sector voluntary workers, teachers, social and educational services administrators.

Main activities are organized in five phases: methodology and semantic definition, technological development, content development, experimentation, evaluation. Expected outputs are the formal definition of the educational methodology, the definition of suitable ontologies in the target domain, the production of a technological e-learning platform, the collection, documentation, and semantic annotation of several hundreds of good practice examples to be included in the e-learning system database, the development of at least one complete course for each participant working in the social sector and the translation of another one, the dissemination and exploitation of project results through web sites, conferences, and the organization of public workshop open to local policy makers, and the contribution to the state-of-the-art in both the technological and the pedagogical fields.
